A long article on doll face painting. Just a flat color Peach or Light Flesh will give you a dead look, It's more of a thin layer upon layer technique. What is the best acrylic paint color for causasion skin for a paper mache doll? Freckles? Lips?
for skin i usually mix colors until something looks right. I mix beigh and pale pink and maybe tan or other light, neutral colors or maybe a little orange or yellow if necessary. For freckles pick a rich brown, but not too dark. For lips add more pink to the skin color (but not too much if it's supposed to be natural). If you want you can add a TINY bit of pink to the skin color and paint it on the cheeks while they're still wet. What is the best acrylic paint color for causasion skin for a paper mache doll? You should mix your own colors, don't try and find a flesh tone because everyone's flesh is a different color. try a little unbleached titanium white, a little brown, a little red and a dab of yellow. Keep playing with it until you get a color you like.
caucasian flesh color is basically.. orange , sometimes on the pinkish side.. shadow areas and form enhancement is the same color with its complementary color in small amounts mixed in to it or as an underpainting.. the complemtary of orange is blue .. if you choose a pinker skin color slide the blue to a little more blue-green.
I've used sort of a Clay pot color with good results- You can leave it as it comes ,for freckles, and lighten it for skin of your preference, I'm kind of tan so, darker than most caucasians, and it matches my skin depending on the way you lighten it,(by mixing cream and a little clay at a time ).Lips are a matter of kind of matching the freckles.

Good Luck!
They make a flesh tone that major lines carry but add a touch of green to it. Any brown diluted will be fine for the freckles (added to your flesh color) and pinkish red for the lips. Have fun!
