Why do lips chap so easily?

I use lotion, lip balm, and drink plenty of water. Why do my lips dry so rapidly even in cool humid conditions? Why do lips chap so easily?
The lip skin is not hairy and does not have sweat glands or sebaceous glands. Therefore, it does not have the usual protection layer of sweat and body oils which keep the skin smooth, kill pathogens, and regulate warmth. For these reasons, the lips dry out faster and become chapped more easily.

I advise drinking loads of water (which is good for your whole body), exfoliating your lips by brushing of the dead skin with a tooth brush and using Bert's Bees like the answer above me said. I love it!Why do lips chap so easily?
The humid conditions or cold air dry them out because they are moist. What sort of lotions do you use anything with a petroleum base (vaseline, mineral oils) actually don't help -

they make it worse so keep that in mind.

You could be dehydrated (drink more water)

and use pure vitamin e and grab a berts bee lip balm with spf.
because lips are a very sensitive area
